Dr Nidhi Niharika
My journey in dentistry began at RV Dental College and continued through my postgraduate training at Krishnadevaraya College, where I specialized in Prosthodontics and Implantology. Today, as a Dental Associate in Dumka (Jharkhand), I realize that Prosthodontics is not just a specialty—it is about restoring smiles, confidence, and dignity. “A smile is the curve that sets everything straight,” and being able to recreate that smile is what inspired me to pursue this field.
A Mentor, A Journey, A Transformation
My postgraduate training under the guidance of Dr. Nitesh sir was a turning point in my life. He not only trained me as a clinician but also shaped me as a human being. I learned that dentistry is not just about procedures and materials; it is about empathy, patience, communication, and responsibility towards patients.
“People will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel,” and this became a guiding principle in my approach towards patients.
One of my most memorable learning experiences was during a case where I faced difficulties due to laboratory changes. Instead of simply solving the problem, he guided me to understand the technical aspects, communicate with the technicians, and manage the case comprehensively.
That experience taught me that Prosthodontics is a perfect blend of clinical skills, technical knowledge, and teamwork. It also taught me that a great clinician is not the one who knows everything, but the one who is willing to learn and understand every step of the process.
During my training, the most important values instilled in me were accountability towards patients, transparency in treatment planning, objectivity in decision-making, leadership, teamwork, integrity, and professional ethics. These values shaped not only my professional life but also my personal outlook towards life.
Knowledge makes a doctor, but values make a great doctor.
My attitude towards life has become very simple over the years — keep learning, keep improving, and stay humble. Towards my patients, I believe in honesty, empathy, and giving my best possible effort in every case. I strongly believe that patients may not always remember the procedure, but they will always remember the care, the honesty, and the comfort you gave them.
When I joined postgraduate training, I was a student focused mainly on completing procedures and fulfilling requirements. But over the years, I evolved into a clinician who understands diagnosis, treatment planning, patient psychology, communication, laboratory coordination, and long-term treatment outcomes.
Postgraduation was not just an academic journey for me; it was a journey of professional maturity, emotional growth, patience, and self-discipline. “Growth is never by chance; it is the result of continuous effort and learning.”
If I were given a chance to do my postgraduate training again, I would want it to be exactly the same — with the same mentor, the same discipline, the same learning environment, and the same values. Because the training
I received was not just about becoming a Prosthodontist; it was about becoming a responsible doctor and a better human being. And I truly believe that “The best teachers don’t just teach subjects, they shape personalities, careers, and lives.”
Dr Anurag Parashar
My journey in dentistry began at Maratha Mandal Dental College, Belagavi, where I completed my undergraduate training. With a growing fascination for rehabilitative and reconstructive dentistry, I chose to pursue my post-graduation in Prosthodontics and Implantology at KCDS, Bangalore (Batch 2019–2022). I was driven by the desire to master the art and science of restoring function, esthetics, and confidence in patients—an area of dentistry that had always inspired me.
Among the many blessings of my PG training, the most defining one was the opportunity to learn under Dr. Nitesh Rai. He has played a remarkable role in shaping not only my professional skills but also my character and approach to life.
Working with him transformed me in ways I had never anticipated. As a professional, I grew more confident, meticulous, and disciplined. Under his guidance, I learned to think beyond routine clinical work and approach every case with critical reasoning, compassion, and integrity.
As a human being, he taught me patience, humility, and the value of consistency—qualities that continue to guide me every day.
Some of my most memorable experiences during my training were the long clinical discussions, his calm and clear explanations during complex cases, and the reassurance he unknowingly gave during moments when I doubted myself.
His mentorship extended far beyond the clinic—he shaped how I communicate with patients, how I handle responsibility, and how I continue learning with curiosity and sincerity.
Today, as a Prosthodontist at Max Healthcare, Noida, I realize how profoundly his teachings influence my practice. The confidence with which I approach challenging cases, the empathy I show my patients, and the professional values I uphold all trace back to my training under him.
Doing my PG under the guidance of Dr. Nitesh has been one of the strongest foundations of my career. His mentorship has left a lifelong impact on the clinician—and the person—I have become.
I will always remain grateful for his unwavering support, wisdom, and belief in me.
Dr Onkar Kamire
I completed my undergraduate dental education at Terna Dental College, New Mumbai. I pursued my postgraduate training from 2020 to 2023. Currently, I am practicing at OM Dental Clinic in Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra, working as a Consultant Prosthodontist and Implantologist.
Choosing Prosthodontics and Implantology was a heartfelt decision. The specialty allows me to transform not just smiles, but lives — restoring confidence, function, and self-esteem. It’s a perfect blend of science, precision, and artistry, giving me the privilege to make a tangible difference in people’s daily lives.
Everything I know as a clinician finds its roots in my learning under Dr. Nitesh Rai. He taught us to view every case through a human lens — not merely as doctors, but as compassionate healers. Under his mentorship, I learned that true dentistry is not just about technique; it’s about empathy, understanding, and unwavering commitment to the patient’s well-being.
Some of my most cherished memories are the informal discussions around his table in the department — where topics ranged from clinical concepts to life philosophies. Dr. Nitesh’s openness in sharing knowledge without boundaries is rare and inspiring. His humility and hunger for learning motivate us to carry forward the same spirit of generosity and curiosity. His influence didn’t just make me a better clinician — it shaped me into a better person.
I still remember once telling him, half-jokingly, “Sir, I’ll charge more so I can make back all the money I spent on my education.”
He smiled and said, “Whatever you studied or spent, it’s for your growth, your learning, and your status — not for the patient. You’ll earn anyway, but as a doctor, you have a duty to give back to the community.”
That simple truth has stayed with me. He also emphasized that the “best treatment” is not necessarily the most advanced one, but the one that best suits the individual patient. These values have become the foundation of my approach to dentistry and to life itself — kindness first, treatment second. Every patient deserves empathy before expertise. Today, in my own clinic and other consultation , I primarily focus on full-mouth reconstructions and smile makeovers, carrying forward the same principles I imbibed during my PG — precision, empathy, and lifelong learning.
Looking Back, If I were to do my postgraduation all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. What could have been an intimidating journey became a period of immense growth, inspiration, and fulfilment — all thanks to my mentor, Dr. Nitesh Rai. His guidance ensured that when I stepped out into the real world, I wasn’t just academically prepared — I was truly clinically and emotionally ready to serve.
Dr Shubham Apurve
I completed my undergraduate dental education at Vokkaligara Sangha Dental College. I pursued my postgraduate training from 2020 to 2023. Currently, I am working as a Prosthodontist at Excellence Dental Clinic, Bangalore.
I chose Prosthodontics and Implantology because it gives me the opportunity to truly change lives by transforming smiles. Restoring a patient’s ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence is deeply fulfilling. This specialty lets me blend science, precision, and artistry to make a real, lasting impact on people’s well-being and self-esteem.
As a professional and as a human being after meeting and working with Dr Nitesh – everything I know as a clinician is all rooted in the learning I obtained from Dr Nitesh. He has shaped the way we see the cases through a human lens not merely as doctors. He has shaped us to be practitioners who always keep the interest and wellbeing of the patient first and foremost. And that has made us strive to be better at our skill as clinicians as well.
Best memories will always be sitting around with Dr Nitesh sir around his table in the department and having an exchange of knowledge and learnings on any subject matter or even about philosophy. He is truly one of the few people who give knowledge with arms wide open.
Its unheard of for people at his level to just want to exchange thoughts and learnings with no boundaries and also makes us want to pay it forward to the next generations in the same way. His pursuit for knowledge is admirable
Doing my postgraduation under the guidance of Dr. Nitesh has helped me grow significantly, both as a clinician and as a person. I feel more confident and competent in my clinical abilities, and I am better equipped for real-world practice compared to many of my peers, thanks to the clear and extensive clinical exposure I received under his mentorship.
Dr Nitesh once told me that as a clinician if I cant do any good to the patient then I definitely should do no harm. Also sometimes instead of the “best treatment” according to us we should think of the treatment that “best caters to that particular patient”
I always put kindness first. Because of sir we have learnt that a person with any ailment needs kindness first and treatment second
I got really interested in changing smiles and seeing transformations in real time through my work. I went on to work as an associate to Dr PC jacob for a year to further hone my skills and to learn about rehabilitating maxillofacial defects mostly resulting from resection due to cancer. After that I went on and continue to work at a private dental clinic in Indiranagar doing full mouth reconstructions and smile corrections primarily
I would like it to be exactly the same because the usually daunting process of postgraduation in prosthodontics seemed like an easy ride because of my guide and mentor Dr Nitesh Rai
Dr. Tanveer
I am Dr. Tanveer Amena, a graduate of ARDCH and a member of the 2022–2025 postgraduate batch from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Science. I am currently practicing as an Associate Dentist and Prosthodontist at Dentalign Dental Care.
Following my undergraduate training, I gained clinical experience for a few years, during which I recognized the importance of continually enhancing one’s knowledge and skills to achieve excellence in dental practice.
Although my entry into Prosthodontics was not initially planned, I consider it a fortunate and defining decision in my professional journey. The specialty has provided me with a comprehensive and holistic perspective on patient care, particularly in the domain of oral rehabilitation.
I had the privilege of being mentored by Dr. Nitesh Rai, whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping my clinical and professional development.
He is an exceptional clinician and an inspiring educator who emphasizes practical, evidence-based learning and real-world application over purely theoretical approaches. This methodology significantly enhanced my clinical confidence and decision-making abilities.
Dr. Nitesh Rai’s ability to approach complex clinical situations with clarity and precision is truly commendable. His emphasis on simplicity, efficiency, and patient-centered care has had a lasting influence on my approach to treatment planning and execution. Equally noteworthy are his humility, patience, and accessibility, which fostered a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Beyond academics, his insights on professionalism, ethics, and personal growth have been equally impactful. The values he imparted during my postgraduate training continue to guide me in my clinical practice and professional conduct.
I remain deeply grateful for the mentorship and continued guidance I receive from him. It is an honour to have trained under his supervision, and I sincerely value the lasting influence he has had on my career. Every clinical outcome I achieve reflects, in part, the principles and knowledge imparted by him.
Dr Poly Sonowal
I completed my BDS from Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences & Research Centre in 2020, followed by my MDS in Prosthodontics from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences & Hospital in 2025. I am currently practicing as a Prosthodontist at my own clinic in Lakhimpur, Assam.
My interest in science, particularly biology, began early in my school years. Alongside this, I always had a creative inclination and enjoyed working with my hands. Prosthodontics naturally appealed to me because it beautifully integrates scientific knowledge with artistic skill, enabling me to restore function while also focusing on aesthetics.
Working under Nitesh sir significantly shaped both my clinical abilities and my personal outlook. Professionally, I developed a strong foundation in diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution. On a personal level, I became more patient, empathetic, and attentive. He taught me to look beyond the clinical condition and truly understand the person behind it, which has had a lasting impact on how I approach both dentistry and life.
One of the most memorable aspects of my training was the in-depth discussions we had on various topics. These sessions were not just about finding answers but about understanding concepts thoroughly.
The way Nitesh sir encouraged us to think, question, and arrive at conclusions made learning highly engaging and effective. Those discussions played a key role in building my confidence and clarity.
My life has changed significantly after undergoing postgraduate training under the guidance of Nitesh sir. My perspective toward dentistry has completely evolved. I now see it not just as a profession, but as a responsibility toward improving a patient’s quality of life.
The training also made me more disciplined, self-aware, and confident in my decision-making. It has influenced both my professional journey and personal growth in a very meaningful way.
Dr. Nitesh Rai sir’s mentorship has equipped me with a strong foundation in conceptual clarity, clinical confidence, and patient management. While every clinician follows their own path, I feel fortunate to have trained under him, benefiting from guidance that emphasized not only technical skill but also sensitivity and empathy in patient care.
During my training, I imbibed several important values that continue to guide my practice and personal growth. Empathy and patience became central to how I interact with patients, while attention to detail and a commitment to ethical practice shaped my clinical approach. I also developed an appreciation for continuous learning, understanding that growth in this field is ongoing. Equally important was learning to stay humble, remain open to questions, and constantly strive to improve myself.
I approach life with a mindset of continuous growth and learning. With patients, I believe in being understanding, patient, and honest. Every patient is different, and I try to ensure that they feel heard, comfortable, and confident throughout their treatment.
When I began my postgraduate journey, I was focused on improving my clinical skills. Over time, this evolved into a deeper understanding of patient care, communication, and responsibility. The journey transformed me into a more confident clinician and a more empathetic individual, capable of handling both clinical challenges and patient expectations more effectively.
I would choose to go through the same kind of training again, one that challenges me, encourages questioning, and focuses on both clinical excellence and personal growth. The experience, though demanding at times, was incredibly rewarding and has shaped me into who I am today.
Well Wisher
Dr. Nitesh Sir’s knowledge of Dentistry is vast, and his passion for teaching is truly inspiring. He encouraged us to think beyond textbooks—to question, to reason, and to always empathize with every patient we treat. His commitment to both teaching and patient care is exceptional; he consistently goes above and beyond in everything he does.
Sir’s lessons extended far beyond academics. His unique analogies and real-life examples remain unforgettable and continue to guide me in my daily practice. His unwavering dedication to helping us—both professionally and personally—has made a lasting impact on my life. Even after completing postgraduate studies, Sir continues to support us, he’s always available to discuss cases and treatment plans despite his busy schedule.
Sir’s selflessness and dedication to the subject are truly unmatched. Teachers like him are incredibly rare to find. I feel deeply grateful to have learned under his guidance and wish him many more years of inspiring and selfless teaching. His influence continues to shape the way I practice Dentistry—with curiosity, compassion, and positivity.
Dr Tanvi Shetty
I completed my BDS from Bharati vidyapeeth, Mumbai and MDS from KCDS, Bangalore.
I had the privilege of training under Dr. Nitesh Rai during my MDS in Prosthodontics, and it has been one of the most defining experiences of my professional journey.
What sets Sir apart is not just his depth of knowledge, but the sincerity with which he teaches. His approach goes beyond textbooks—he ensures that every concept is understood with clarity and clinical relevance. He has immense patience and takes genuine effort in shaping his students into confident clinicians.
One of his most defining qualities is his unwavering commitment to ethical patient care. He consistently places the patient’s best interests above all else, setting a standard that naturally shapes the values of those who train under him.
His guidance has not only refined my clinical abilities but has also deeply influenced my judgment and decision-making, instilling a sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidence in every case I handle.
I distinctly remember cases where he encouraged hands-on learning, guiding us through procedures step by step, including laboratory aspects that are often overlooked. This practical exposure has been invaluable, especially now in my professional career, where such skills make a significant difference.
He is not just a mentor but someone who truly supports and believes in his students. Even today, his teachings continue to guide me in my daily practice.
Training under him is not just about learning prosthodontics—it is about learning integrity, perseverance, and excellence.
Dr Vijaya Vaishnavi TS
I completed my undergraduate studies at PMNM Dental College, Bagalkot, and pursued my postgraduation in Prosthodontics and Implantology at Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Bangalore (Batch of 2022-25).
I am currently working as a Consultant Prosthodontist at the Manya Dental chain of clinics. Prosthodontics appealed to me because it blends science with artistry. It gives me the opportunity to restore function and aesthetics in a way that significantly improves a patient’s quality of life.
My first interaction with Dr. Nitesh sir was during my internship at Krupa Dental Clinic, where he serves as the Consultant Prosthodontist. The clinical exposure and hands-on learning I received under his guidance during that period greatly boosted my confidence and contributed immensely to my growth as a clinician.
Continuing my journey into postgraduate training under his mentorship, I truly consider myself one of the fortunate students to have been guided by him.
Dr. Nitesh sir never regarded any doubt as trivial; instead, he focused on understanding the thought process behind each question and patiently guided us toward the right answers.
What set his teaching apart was his ability to relate complex prosthodontic concepts to real-life clinical scenarios. He had a unique way of simplifying even the most challenging topics, breaking them down into easily understandable components. This not only strengthened our conceptual clarity but also helped us apply our knowledge more confidently in clinical practice.
I take great pride in being his student and remain deeply grateful for his invaluable role in shaping my professional journey.
Dr Cathy
Hi, I’m Cathy. I completed my BDS from BIDS, Bangalore and MDS from KCDS, Bangalore (2018- 2021). I am currently running my own practice in Shillong.
The reason behind choosing prosthodontics was mostly because of my senior colleagues, who had advised me that this was the best branch (in terms of future scope) and that it was “worth doing your masters in”.
During counselling, I got allotted to KCDS and had the pleasure of speaking with my senior Dr Shipla Nandini, who spoke greatly of one of the professors there, Dr Nitesh Rai, and that it would be a wise decision to be his student.
I listened to her and I’m very glad that I did.
Nitesh Sir is a breath of fresh air in the dental fraternity and the world in general, because good people are very rare. He takes genuine interest in not just teaching the subject with immense patience, but goes out of his way to help you with all your troubles. He is more a true friend to us students than just a teacher.
His kindness obviously extends to our patients too. He always has their best interest in mind, and this kind of ethical guidance, I believe, subconsciously passes down to his students. They say ethics can’t be taught but Nitesh Sir has a way around it.
In one such case, a patient wasn’t able to afford a prosthesis for his dental implants (placed elsewhere) so Nitesh Sir decided to take the opportunity to train me in fabricating a hybrid prosthesis from scratch, while allowing the patient to be able to afford a new set of teeth. This idea of training me in lab work, knowing well that my hometown doesn’t have good access to good labs was a great foresight on his part, something I realised only after starting my practice here. The knowledge gained from that experience has helped me immensely.
Today, when I discuss cases with fellow colleagues and lab technicians, I realise, the kind of knowledge that Nitesh Sir had passed down to us, so selflessly, isn’t something you get for free. It comes with years of experience.
One needs a great deal of perseverance to find reasons for failures, and then finding their solutions, and it takes an even greater person to so freely share all that knowledge without any hesitation.
In a dog-eat-dog world, meeting a human being like Nitesh Sir is deeply inspiring and comforting.
Dr Sai Jyothi
I completed my UG from VSDC, Bengaluru and was part of the 2018-2021 PG batch. I am currently working as the Clinical Director in Procure Dental chain of clinics.
I chose to pursue PG in Prosthodontics and Implantology as it felt like the most engaging and future-oriented branch, offering both clinical satisfaction and strong career prospects.
Working with Dr Nitesh Rai had a profound impact on me, both professionally and personally. He taught me how to deliver high-quality dental care efficiently while always prioritizing patient comfort, inspiring me to become not just a better dentist, but also a more compassionate and grounded human being.
One of the most meaningful things I learned from him was how to treat patients with genuine gentleness and empathy; his patience and kindness taught me that being a good healthcare provider is as much about the heart as it is about skill. His calm, clear way of teaching made learning feel easy and natural—more like guidance from a friend than a teacher—and that experience truly shaped the clinician I hope to become.
He taught me that kindness is just as important as skill — to treat every patient with compassion, to always strive for better outcomes, and to help those in need even when they can’t afford it. His values continue to guide me every single day in my practice.
I feel absolutely better equipped for having done my PG under his mentorship. He instilled in me the values of kindness, humility, and the importance of always striving to be a better human being while delivering the best care possible.
My attitude toward life and my patients has been shaped by a simple philosophy — be kind, do better every time, and forgive mistakes, both mine and others’.
My journey after joining post graduation has been one of continuous learning and growth, with each step shaping me into a more confident clinician and compassionate leader.
If I were to do PG again, I would want it to be the same as my old one.
Dr Soundarya S Prabhu
I am Dr Soundarya S. Prabhu. I completed my undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, M. S. Ramaiah University, and my post graduation in Prosthodontics and Implantology at Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences & Hospital. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor and Consultant in Mangalore. I chose Prosthodontics because of the versatility it offers—its concepts, techniques, and the wide range of skills it demands.
When I sat down to write about my experience with Dr Nitesh Sir, it took me a long time— not because I didn’t know what to say, but because I didn’t know how to fit into a few lines what he means to me and to the hundreds of students whose lives he has touched.
Sir has taught me how to see things from different perspectives and how that shift can change the way we understand people and situations. He helped me understand the true difference between ‘need’ and ‘want.’ He has always taught me so much patience, clarity, and sincerity that even the toughest clinical cases or decision in life felt possible to handle
One of the greatest things about him is that he never places expectations on his students, and that freedom allows us to learn, grow, and yet stay grounded. He has always worked with integrity and complete selflessness.
He is one among the very few people I truly look up to. I only hope I can do justice to his teachings, and pass on to future generations even a fraction of what he has given me. I consider this my ‘Alilu seve’—a small offering towards the bridge of knowledge that Sir is building, one that helps us cross the ocean of ignorance, destroy the darkness, and let the light of selflessness and righteousness shine through.
What I appreciate the most is that he never just “taught” me, he guided me, inspired me, and believed in me even when I doubted myself. He truly is a Guru in the fullest sense—one who shapes not just minds, but lives.
Dr Roopa Tirumlakoppa
I completed my UG from SDM College of Dental Science & Hospital and was part of the 2021 PG batch from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Science & Hospital. I am currently working as a prosthodontist in KDC Hubli.
I chose prosthodontics because this branch offers vast opportunities to restore both the smile and function for patients. It not only brings back their smile but also provides the satisfaction of having their teeth restored.
As a professional, Dr Nitesh Rai sir has prepared me so thoroughly that I am confident in handling any difficulties I encounter, using the knowledge and guidance he has provided. Beyond just the professional aspects, Sir has truly shaped me into a person who can handle every situation in life independently, irrespective of the circumstances. Sitting in front of Sir and discussing even the smallest doubts is one of my most memorable experiences, and I will always remember the days when he pushed me to my limits—like during the zygomatic case, where he stood by me when no one else did. I still remember his words: “If your intentions are good, you will get good results.”
Till today, I continue to follow his guidance. Learning under such a friendly mentor is an immense pleasure. I am proud to say that, with all his selfless teaching, I have gained the knowledge and experience to serve people effectively. I always work with good intentions and provide the best possible treatment to patients.
Dr Anwesha Samaddar
I completed my UG from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore in 2020 and my PG from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore in 2024. I am currently working as an Associate Dentist and Prosthodontist at Apollo Dental, Pune.
Since my school years, I’ve always been interested in science, especially biology. At the same time, I’ve had a strong artistic side and enjoyed working creatively with my hands. Choosing prosthodontics felt natural to me, as it perfectly combines both art and biology — allowing me to apply scientific knowledge while creating something aesthetically meaningful.
When I began my post-graduation, my primary goal was to gain a thorough understanding of the clinical aspects of prosthodontics so that I could become a competent clinician — or “market ready,” as Nitesh Sir often called it. This involved not only mastering the science but also developing a deeper understanding of patients, laboratory coordination, and the workings of the dental industry as a whole.
Dr Nitesh consistently emphasized the importance of empathy — reminding us that dentistry is not just about restoring teeth, but about restoring confidence, comfort, and quality of life. He taught us that every patient has a unique story, and that understanding their fears, expectations, and motivations is as important as understanding the science behind their treatment. According to him, true clinical excellence comes only when we combine skill with compassion — when we listen, connect, and treat each patient as a person, not just a case.
He also encouraged us to ask questions — as many as we could — and was always patient and approachable, no matter how basic our doubts were. He ensured that whatever case we were handling, our concepts remained crystal clear.
We often engaged in long, insightful discussions on topics that challenged us, and by the end of each, we would have a solid grasp of the subject. I believe those discussions were the most enriching part of my post-graduation. He created a platform where we could question, debate, and refine our understanding, while sir guided us thoughtfully toward the right answers. This approach was unlike any other learning experience I had encountered before — practical, engaging, and deeply impactful.
My overall postgraduate journey shaped me into a more compassionate and confident clinician — a transformation I owe largely to Dr Nitesh Rai. If I had the opportunity to pursue it again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Though it wasn’t always an easy path, every challenge taught me invaluable lessons that contributed to both my professional and personal growth.
I remain sincerely grateful to Dr Nitesh Rai for his mentorship, guidance, and unwavering support throughout my journey.
Dr Mansi Deshpande
I completed my UG from Krishna Vishwavidyapeeth, Karad, Maharashtra, and was part of the 2021-2024 PG batch. I am currently working as an Associate Dentist and Consultant in Pune, Maharashtra
I chose Prosthodontics and Implantology because it felt like the perfect specialty where i could rebuild smiles, restore confidence, and make a real difference in people’s lives — that’s what drew me in and continues to inspire me every day.
Meeting and studying under Dr Nitesh sir truly changed me. Professionally, he taught me what it means to aim for perfection with patience and discipline. Personally, he made me realize the value of humility, consistency, and compassion. His mentorship shaped not just the dentist in me, but also the person I’ve become.
There are countless memories, but the ones that stand out are those quiet moments when he’d guide me through difficult cases with such calm confidence.
Watching him work, observing his attention to every small detail, and the way he interacted with patients — those were my greatest lessons. Also, the discussions on various implant systems and software that were not included in the module, consistently going above and beyond to share his extensive knowledge.
Doing my PG under his guidance has been one of the most defining chapters of my life. It gave me direction, clarity, and purpose. I entered as a student unsure of my capabilities, and I walked out with confidence, skill, and a deep sense of responsibility towards my profession. His mentorship didn’t just shape my career — it shaped who I am as a person.
The kind of exposure, guidance, and discipline we had under him prepared us for the real world in a way few others experience. He taught us not just what to do, but how to think — and that has made all the difference.
Dedication, patience, respect for every patient, honesty in work, and never compromising on quality — no matter what. These are values that stay with me every single day.
My attitude towards life has become much more grounded and grateful. I’ve learned to stay calm, focused, and kind — whether it’s handling a complex case or a tough day. Towards patients, I’ve learned to listen more, care deeper, and always put their comfort first.
When I joined PG, I was excited but nervous — unsure of how I would manage. Over time, with his guidance, I found my rhythm. Every challenge became a lesson, every mistake an opportunity to grow. I came out of this journey stronger, more confident, and deeply passionate about my work.
If I could do it all over again, I’d live every moment of it even more intensely and cherish the long clinic hours, the laughter, the learning, even the stressful days. I’d still want Dr. Nitesh sir
as the mentor, because his presence turned it from just an academic experience into a life- changing one.
Dr Dhanalakshmi Palanisamy
I completed my UG from Vivekanandha Dental College, Tiruchengode, and my PG from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem.
I chose to pursue Postgraduate in Prosthodontics and Implantology as dentistry starts with occlusion and ends with occlusion and prosthodontist plays a crucial role in restoring occlusion. The field fascinated me because it demanded perfection both technically and emotionally.
Under the Guidance of Dr Nitesh, I didn’t learn only prosthodontics, I learnt life. His calm demeanor, patience, ethical integrity, and commitment to excellence made me realize that being a good professional starts with being a good human being. Under his guidance, I learned the value of empathy, attention to detail, and the importance of treating every patient as a person, not just a case.
Professionally, I became more disciplined, analytical, and confident. Personally, I became humbler, empathetic, and grounded.
There were countless memorable moments, but the most impactful was observing how Dr Nitesh handled challenging clinical situations with composure and precision. He taught me that true mastery lies not only in skill but in attitude — to stay composed, to think before acting, and to treat every obstacle as a learning opportunity. Each case was not just a clinical exercise but a lesson in patience, perseverance, and teamwork. He taught me to think beyond textbooks — to focus on patient comfort, long-term outcomes, and continuous learning.
His mentorship shaped my confidence to handle complex cases and make independent, ethical clinical judgments. Under Dr Nitesh’s mentorship, I grew not just in skill, but in soul. Towards my patients, I carry compassion, patience, and the constant drive to deliver the best care possible. I now see every patient as a story, not a case — and every treatment as a chance to make a difference. If I were ever to pursue my PG again, I would want it to be exactly the same under the guidance of my mentors. Because having the best mentors makes all the differences. His mentorship didn’t just make me a better prosthodontist — it made me a better person.
Dr Prathibha Prasad
I completed my UG from VS Dental College, Bangalore, and was part of the 2017-2020 PG batch. I am currently working as the Clinical Director and Owner at Dyuthi Dental Care, Bangalore.
Prosthodontics truly captivates my creative spirit, offering a unique opportunity to transform a person’s life by designing a perfect smile. The ability to craft custom prosthesis for each patient, making unique changes to suit their individual needs and aesthetics, is profoundly satisfying. My decision was greatly influenced by my undergraduate mentor, Dr Bharath Gowda, whose passion for the field inspired me to pursue this speciality. Now, as a clinic owner and entrepreneur, I am certain I made the right choice, finding immense fulfilment in both the artistry and the business of restorative dentistry.
I was incredibly fortunate to be taught by Dr Nitish sir who was unlike any other professor I encountered. He wasn’t just a dental expert; he was a wonderful human being with a curious expansive patient. I could talk to him about anything—he always had thoughtful opinions and was quick to learn if he didn’t know something.
What truly set him apart was his focus on real world clinical experience over just following the textbook, which made all the difference in handling patients. He had a gift for taking the most challenging cases and finding a simple elegant solution. I could always approach him with ease. His humility and kindness left a lasting impression, and the values he instilled over those three years have been instrumental in my development as a clinician and a person.
The morning discussions with Nitish sir right after arriving at college on Tuesdays and Fridays stand out as truly memorable experiences. His presence also made the conversations during the seminars and journal clubs exceptionally engaging and distinct.
It made me both a good clinician and gave me a professor I can always consult with for doubts or case discussions.
He always taught me to keep it simple and clear. If you are confident about a procedure say yes or give the correct guidance to patient without over complicating.
The most transformative phase of my career was my post-graduate residency. It was a deep dive, spending three years under amazing professors. More than the textbooks, I learned the crucial lesson that no two patients are same, which forced me to grow—often by learning from my own mistakes. It was humbling, but I learned to love that dentistry is a constant journey of improvement.
With that foundation, I gained practical experience as a Senior Lecturer and by working full- time at a respected hospital clinic. This experience solidified my skills and ignited a dream. Two years ago, I turned that dream into reality by opening my own clinical practice.
If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I would like to gain more hands on experience in full mouth rehabilitation and implant dentistry. It would be great to manage interdisciplinary cases as this will enhance my proficiency in complex treatment planning and execution. Additionally, I would love to develop and refine my skills in patient communication, specifically learning how to effectively convey the necessity and benefits of comprehensive treatment plans, ultimately helping patients commit to and accept the correct course of care.
Dr Subhashh K
I am Dr Subhash K, Prosthodontist and Implantologist. I completed my BDS from Government Dental College & Research Institute, Bengaluru (2005–2011), and pursued my MDS in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bengaluru (2012–2015). Currently, I am serving as an Associate Professor at Humanabad Dental College & Research Institute and running my own dental clinic and laboratory.
After graduation, I firmly believed that upgrading one’s knowledge and skills is essential to excel in clinical practice. This inspired me to pursue post graduation in Prosthodontics—a specialty that combines science, precision, and artistry. Joining Krishnadevaraya College was truly a dream come true, owing to its excellent professors, staff, and the wide spectrum of clinical exposure it offered.
Among the many mentors I had, Dr Nitish Rai Sir, stands out as an exceptional teacher and a humble human being. His guidance—from the fundamentals to the most advanced treatment modalities—has shaped the way we approach complex clinical situations today. His mentorship not only enhanced my clinical expertise but also influenced my attitude and professional outlook profoundly.
One of my most cherished memories with Sir is when we successfully treated our First guided implant surgery case—a milestone that remains close to my heart.
The values and discipline instilled during my post-graduation under Dr Nitish Rai Sir’s mentorship continues to guide me every day. If given the chance to pursue PG again, I would undoubtedly choose to train under his guidance once more.
Thank you so much, Sir, for your unwavering support, knowledge, and inspiration. I remain forever grateful to you.
Dr Pankaj Gandhi
I completed my UG from Uttaranchal Dental and Medical Research Institute, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), and my PG from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bengaluru (Karnataka). I am currently working as a Reader in the Department of Prosthodontics at Uttaranchal Dental and Medical Research Institute, Dehradun.
I was always drawn to the art of rebuilding smiles. Prosthodontics beautifully combines science, design, and empathy—it’s about restoring confidence as much as function. Implantology added another layer of depth and precision that truly fascinated me.
Meeting Dr Nitesh was a turning point. He taught me how to think beyond treatment—to plan, to stay calm, and to care deeply for every patient. Watching his dedication made me more disciplined, empathetic, and self-aware, both as a doctor and as a person.
I’ll never forget assisting him in a full-mouth rehabilitation case. His focus and composure during every step were inspiring. That day taught me what true mastery looks like—and how much difference precision and patience can make.
Doing PG under his mentorship shaped me in every way. I became more confident, organized, and grounded. He helped me realize that good dentistry is as much about intention and integrity as it is about technique.
Without a doubt, I feel better equipped because of him. His way of approaching each case— with clarity, planning, and ethics—gave me a strong foundation. I feel better prepared to handle complex cases and guide my students with the same values.
He taught me discipline, humility, empathy, and a constant desire to learn. These values have become part of how I live and work every day.
Life, to me, is now about balance and gratitude. I treat every patient with respect and care— because every smile I restore is a reflection of trust and responsibility.
My journey of growth: When I started PG, I was eager but unsure. Over time, under his mentorship, I found clarity, confidence, and direction. That journey transformed me—not just as a professional, but as a person.
If I were to do PG again, I’d still choose to train under Dr Nitesh. Because mentors like him don’t just shape your career—they shape who you become.
Dr Digvijay P Patil
I am Dr Digvijay P Patil, from Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
I completed my UG from KLE’s VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum, and was part of the first PG batch (2009-2012) from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore. I currently run a practice in Kolhapur called The Speciality Dental Care & Implant Centre and also manage a dental lab named The Speciality Digital Dental Lab.
It was a matter of chance that I got admission in this speciality. But to be honest, I am grateful that I have pursued this. This branch gives a holistic approach towards patient care and rehabilitation. This branch does not have any limitations for complete oral care like other branches.
Doing my PG under Dr Shivashankar sir, Dr P C Jacob sir, Dr Nitesh sir & all the staff of KCDS has been a boon in my life. But I would definitely say that only due to Dr Nitesh sir’s hand holding, his detailing in work, his attitude towards patient care, his interest in teaching us etc has played a major role in our career building & making us a better human being.
Sir would always be there to guide us from patients’ treatment from start to end. Always insist us to follow newer techniques for patients’ benefit. We would never have any fear or hesitation to ask our doubts or share our failures towards him.
Dr Nitesh sir has not only taught us clinical skills but also to be a better person. He taught us to have empathy towards other people.
We consider ourself as fortunate to be always on the driving seat for trying newer techniques for examples being, dental Implants training, maxillofacial training, full mouth rehabilitations etc. Also sir would always guide us for using newer materials.
Life gives everyone a chance to care & cure other people. God chose me to be a Dentist and serve people. I consider myself fortunate that these values have been imbibed in me by Dr Nitesh sir,
I am successfully running a 3 chair dental clinic at a tier 2 city place, Also working as an Executive Committee member of Indian Society of Oral Implantology (ISOI). President of IDA, Kolhapur branch. Owner of Digital Dental Laboratory.
I do not wish to change any of my time which I have spent under the guidance of Dr Nitesh Sir. I firmly believe that I had best days of my PG under him and I would not have made much progress in life without his guidance.
Thank you again from my bottom of my heart sir.
Dr Kiran Raghunath
Hi I’m Dr Kiran Raghunath. I completed my UG from M. R. Ambedkar Dental College and Hospital, Bangalore and pursued my PG in Prosthodontics and Implantology from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences, Bangalore. I am currently working as a Senior Lecturer at NSVK Venkateshwara Dental College and Hospital.
Choosing Prosthodontics felt natural — it’s a branch that restores not just smiles, but confidence and identity. Under the mentorship of Dr Nitesh, this journey became far more meaningful than I ever expected. His guidance shaped me both as a clinician and as a person. He taught me to approach every case with patience, empathy, and attention to detail, and to see dentistry as an act of care rather than just treatment.
One of my most memorable experiences was handling a complex case under his supervision
— it pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me truly believe in myself.
Doing my PG under Dr Nitesh didn’t just refine my technical skills…it built my values — discipline, integrity, and compassion. I’ve become more grounded, confident, and patient, both in my work and in life.
If I were to do my PG all over again, I’d choose the same path and the same mentor — because this journey didn’t just make me a better prosthodontist…it made me a better person.
Dr Zeba Nagi
I completed my UG from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and was part of the 2013- 2016 PG batch. I am currently working as a Resident Prosthodontist at Confident Dental Care, HSR
After speaking to someone my seniors and staff I decided to take up Prosthodontics as my PG subject.
I have been under Dr Nitesh Sir since 2007 during my UG and have been my luck or destiny to have him as my PG guide too.
He is one person who is very clear and direct with his words and guidance . His approach with patients has always kept me in awe cause his clinical skills has been quick and flawless.
My over all confidence towards patients has increased thanks to sir and his help. Complete dentures each patient has been different and a challenge but with sir it’s all been done so well.
Sir has always guided me each time I have gone to him. A very selfless person who gives his 100% to his students always.I surely am better equipped than others of being under Dr Nitesh sir during my PG , have always been informed with the latest and best treatment modalities and also post completion of my PG I am still blessed to have his guidance with me.
Patients come first , treat them like your own people and give you best possible to them are some of the values instilled in me during my training
Seriousness towards life and work. Care and concern about patients and hope to deliver good work each time.
If I were to do PG again, It will be a rebirth if I was given a chance to do my PG again and under Dr Nitesh Sir, I would spend more time on new cases and challenges and upgrade myself again, cause learning never ends.
Dr Farhan Kabeer
I completed my UG from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, and was part of the 2018 PG batch. I am currently working as the Chief Dental Surgeon at Poovath Dental Clinic, Fort Kochi.
Prosthodontics was a branch of dentistry that I was always inclined towards since my UG days. It could be because I have been an artist since childhood and Prostho’s work always appealed to me. The craft and attention to detail involved in the discipline. And I have always felt like Prosthodontics is a branch that delivers guaranteed results to the patient.
I had heard about Dr Nitesh sir before I joined my PG. Upon inquiring about the college and Prostho department I was told by seniors that I really got to try and make the best out of my
PG by learning from Nitesh sir. After joining however, i was disappointed not to be under direct guidance of Dr Nitesh sir. But that did not stop me from getting close to him and gaining bits and pieces of the vast expertise and knowledge he had to offer.
He is a practical person. He did not bother about textbook methods, although his theory was up to date. He taught me to listen to the patient first and then treat according to their needs, rather than pushing our convenient treatment upon them. He taught me to put the patient first before us. He is not just a Professor. He was more of a Life coach/Guru for me. Nitesh sir always stood by my side for everything. He appreciated my achievements and pointed out my mistakes. I cannot fully describe what Dr Nitesh sir is to me in these few lines. He is a really good teacher, mentor and clinician to say the least.
My most memorable moments with Nitesh sir have been outside Prosthodontics. About life, kindness, humanity and spirituality. But in prosthodontics, he always had lots of practical tips to share which no textbooks ever taught us. Like hand torquing an entire implant slowly when the bone is in question, just one example among many.
My life has definitely changed because of Nitesh sir’s presence. I have become a better person with more empathy and kindness towards everyone, not just patients. He always motivated me to be in touch with my spiritual side.
I definitely feel like doing PG under him has instilled certain values in myself as a human, which a curriculum cannot bring forth. Running my own practice, the values i learnt from sir is what helps me move forward with patience.
Values instilled – Patience, Empathy, Kindness, Priorities, Practical application rather than textbook methods
I do not believe in second chances. I am forever grateful for the journey I have with Dr Nitesh sir. And I will treasure my relationship with him.
Dr Pushkarraj Ramrupe
I completed my BDS from Vokkaligara Sangha Dental College and my MDS from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences in 2013. I am currently working as a Consultant Prosthodontist and serve as the Director and Head Dentist at DENTIST NEAR ME, Thane.
I chose to pursue PG in prosthodontics and implantology because of ability to recreate what is missing. Only department which does that.
I have chosen Krishnadevraya College for my pg in prosthodontics mainly for 2 reasons. Firstly, guidance from Dr Shivshankar sir and secondly Dr Nitesh rai sir.
Dr Nitesh has been a tremendous support for all of us in our pg days. No matter what, he has a solution for everything. For him , money is secondary.. patients satisfaction comes first. Which we carry forward as a Clinician in our practice. He just not teaches you about treatment plans but silently he builds your character too.
We remember sir coming early than everyone, wears his apron, comes straight into pg room and asks “ what all patients you have today” . That shows his dedication towards his work. Under the guidance of Dr Nitesh rai sir, our way at looking towards dentistry has completely changed. Dentistry has become more fun and challenging.
Attitude towards patient have changed under Nitesh sir. As I said, patient satisfaction comes first no matter what for Nitish sir. He says ‘pay from your pocket if possible, for the best treatment for patient. Win situation for both. Patients get a better treatment and we were able to learn newer techniques.
I would definitely love to learn more from Nitesh sir. Anyways, he helps us giving us treatment plan on phone. But in person I would love to have that opportunity getting that loads of knowledge from sir. Thank you for being our guide during PG days. Each implant I place, each denture I make, each mouth I rehab and every smile I put on patient face is dedicated to Dr Nitesh rai sir.
I hope that’s the best gurudakhsina I can give it to LEGEND DR NITESH RAI.
Dr Swetha Illapakurthi
I was part of the 2015–2018 PG batch and am currently working as a Managing Partner and Consultant Prosthodontist & Implantologist in Hyderabad, India.
I chose to pursue Prosthodontics and Implantology despite being initially scared of the challenges, but joining KCDS and finding a mentor in Dr Nitesh Rai turned out to be a true blessing in disguise that changed my perception of dentistry. Meeting Dr Nitesh Rai, my PG guide and mentor, has been a transformative journey.
Under his guidance, I evolved immensely—both as a professional and as a human being. His passion for Prosthodontics & Implantology shaped my own interest in the field and instilled in me a deep sense of dedication toward patient care and clinical excellence.
My most memorable experience with Dr Nitesh Sir was witnessing how effortlessly he simplifies even the most complex prosthodontic concepts that have clinical relevance making it not only easy for the dentist but also for the patient.
His approach to teaching, coupled with his unwavering focus on the patient’s well-being, left a lasting impression on me. His constant encouragement and guidance have molded my clinical perspective, and even today, I often find myself thinking, “How would Sir have handled this case?” The values instilled during my training—humility, lifelong learning, openness to knowledge, and the essence of the Guru–Shishya philosophy—will always remain with me. Dr Nitesh Rai’s grounded nature and his quest for continuous learning inspire me every single day.
My journey of growth as a prosthodontist truly began the day I joined PG, and I owe my knowledge and clinical experience to Dr Nitesh Rai.
Thank you, Sir, for being my mentor, guide, and an inspiration to many.
Dr Sai Bharadwaz
I completed my BDS from A.M.E’s Dental College and pursued my MDS in Prosthodontics & Implantology from Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences (2016–2019). Those three years were a turning point in my career and life.
During my PG, I was fortunate to learn under Dr Nitesh Rai and a wonderful group of mentors and colleagues who played a major role in shaping who I am today.
Dr Nitesh sir’s calm, positive nature, a good heart, and his idea of “learning from everyone” left a deep mark on me.
Along with him, the entire team created an environment where teamwork, respect, and curiosity thrived. His guidance helped me grow both professionally and personally. I learned to stay humble, be disciplined, and handle every patient with empathy and confidence.
One of my best learning experiences was assisting a complex full-mouth rehabilitation case — it taught me that dentistry is not just about procedures but about planning, purpose, and teamwork.
Today, I work as a Consultant Prosthodontist & Implantologist and Managing Partner at Tooth Docs Dental Clinic. The values and skills I gained during my PG training continue to guide me every day — from clinical decisions to patient relationships. If I ever had the chance to do my PG again, I would do it exactly the same way. Those years gave me direction, confidence, and a deep sense of purpose in my profession.
Dr Vini Panjwani
I completed my UG from Ramaiah Dental College and was part of the 2014-2017 PG batch. I am currently working as an Assistant Dentist in Frankfurt, Germany.
Implants are the new age technology in Dentistry and choosing Prosthodontics made prosthetic part much easier and smoother to learn.
Dr Nitesh is an amazing Human being, his knowledge is much more practically inclined.which definitely helped me in my practise to work.Sir is very much reachable for all kind of queries.
My best memorable experience and learning under him has been, preparing for paper and presentation. Sir will guide till you master it and be perfectionist. He puts all his time and knowledge into it
Dr Nitesh is a Guru!! Who guided me to grow professionally, personally and spiritually He taught be patient and humble towards the patients, first listen and then treat.
During Pg I had treated n number of patients, which helped not only have bookish knowledge but also to know patients expectations and all the pros n cons one might encounter on regular basis with patients
If I were to do PG again, I would want it to be more and more technology-friendly, with a stronger focus on practical learning in CAD CAM
